
Robert D. Bullard
Robert D. Bullard is Ware Professor of Sociology and Director of the Environmental Justice Resource Center at Clark Atlanta University. Professor Bullard is the author of fourteen books that address sustainable development, environmental racism, urban land use, industrial facility siting, community reinvestment, housing, transportation, climate justice, emergency response, smart growth, and regional equity. He has been described as the father of environmental justice. Professor Bullard was featured in the July 2007 CNN People You Should Know, Bullard: Green Issue is Black and White. In 2008, Newsweek named him one of thirteen Environmental Leaders of the Century. His book, Dumping in Dixie: Race, Class and Environmental Quality (Westview Press, 2000), is a standard text in the environmental justice field. His most recent books include The Quest for Environmental Justice: Human Rights and the Politics of Pollution (Sierra Club Books, 2005), Growing Smarter: Achieving Livable Communities, Environmental Justice, and Regional Equity (MIT Press, 2007), and The Black Metropolis in the Twenty-First Century: Race, Power, and the Politics of Place (Rowman & Littlefield, 2007). Professor Bullard is co-author of In the Wake of the Storm: Environment, Disaster and Race After Katrina (Russell Sage Foundation, 2006) and Toxic Wastes and Race at Twenty: 1987-2007 (United Church of Christ Witness & Justice Ministries, 2007). His latest book is Race, Place and Environmental Justice After Hurricane Katrina: Struggles to Reclaim, Rebuild, and Revitalize New Orleans and the Gulf Coast (Westview Press, 2009). He is completing work on a new book titled Deadly Waiting Game Beyond Hurricane Katrina: Government Response, Unnatural Disasters, and African Americans (New York University Press, forthcoming 2009).
Congressman Lloyd Doggett
Congressman Lloyd Doggett’s career of public service spans four decades, two branches of government, and two capitol buildings. Congressman Doggett is a member of the House Budget Committee and a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which has jurisdiction over all tax and trade measures, as well as Social Security and Medicare. For his work protecting the environment, Doggett was honored in 2006 by the Texas League of Conservation Voters with its inaugural Environmental Champion Award. The Austin Chronicle honored him in the annual "Best of Austin" poll, naming him "Best Unsung Hero" in 2003, "Best Elected Official" (2004-2007) and in 2008 called him among the "hardest working congressmen on the Hill" who has "served the people of Austin and Central Texas with distinction, courage, and forthrightness for many years."
Mark Kapner
Mark Kapner is the VP for Renewable Energy at Austin Energy. He was instrumental in developing and running Austin’s GreenChoice Program, the nation’s leading renewable energy marketing program. He also helped develop the Plug In Partners campaign. Kapner has over 30 years of experience in energy technology and environmental engineering and policy. Prior to coming to Austin, Kapner launched TerraSolar USA, a solar photovoltaics company based in New Jersey. He was a research and development manager in the New York Power Authority where he developed demonstration projects in energy storage, biomass energy, solar, and cogeneration. Kapner spent ten years as a consultant to federal government agencies, including the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency. He has a BS in Engineering Science from the State University of New York and a Masters in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
Julian Mocine-McQueen
Julian Julian Mocine-McQueen is a Field Organizer with Green For All. Julian is an Oakland native raised behind the redwood curtain of Humboldt County. He is a recent graduate of San Francisco State University, and found his way to Green For All through his work organizing with The League of Young Voters. He was drawn to the message of saving our people and our planet, and is driven by a belief that Green For All’s mission is the solution to our biggest problems. As field organizer Julian works everyday to connect with the people fostering an inclusive green economy throughout the country, and more importantly helps them connect to each other.

Br. ChiSing is an ordained disciple of the famous Zen Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh as well as a commissioned minister within the United Church of Christ. He is also a Community College adjunct professor of World Religions, the founder of Interfaith Mindfulness Ministries, and the facilitator of one of the largest lay meditation communities in Dallas, Texas. He is a popular retreat facilitator around the country for Christian churches, Buddhist centers, college campuses and Interfaith groups. And he is a singer/songwriter, poet and “peaceful” peace activist, as well as a lover of travel, science fiction/fantasy movies and gourmet gelato.
